We are pleased to announce the release of OptiTune Version 4.0.

OptiTune V4.0 adds the following new features and updates:

• Remote Connect – Connect to any computer in your organization that is connected to the internet, and control its desktop with your keyboard and mouse.  This was our most frequently requested feature by customers. 
• To try it out, go to the Computer Details page, and click on “Remote Connect”, or go to Remote Support > Computers.
• It doesn’t matter if the computer is behind a firewall, as long as it has outgoing HTTPS access. 
• You can also transfer files to/from the remote computer using Tools > File Transfer menu option from the Remote Connect software menu. 
• Note that this feature is new, and different from the existing Remote Assistance feature, where an end user makes a request for remote assistance through the OptiTune Support Center.
• Organization Structure – Define a hierarchy which accurately reflects your organizational structure, as it relates to your IT assets and computers.  You can define a hierarchy of Departments, Sites, Companies, and Customers.  This feature makes it easier to manage thousands of computers that may belong to different companies, internal departments, or physical locations.  It’s also quite useful for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) that manage many different customers, all from the same OptiTune organization. 
• Group Membership Rules – Now, instead of manually assigning computers to a group, you can define group membership rules to automatically include computers in a group.  You can define membership rules to match the following types of information associated with a computer:
• Client ID
• Computer Type (desktop, laptop, server)
• OS Version
• Windows Install Date
• Total Physical Memory
• Domain Name
• Computer Name
• System Manufacturer
• System Model
• Processor
• Hard Drive
• Video Card
• Application Exists
• Malware Protection
• Malware Threat Status
• Customized Agent Installer – For an end user friendly installer that is fully customizable with your own branding, company name, and logos, you can generate a custom installer which will install the OptiTune agent on a computer.  You can even change the application name and publisher name, so the user won’t even know you are using OptiTune, and will only see your branding information.

  With the “clientid” parameter, you can now automatically associate a computer with a specific group.  For example, you could have one agent installer that you would give to your accounting department, and a different installer that you could give to your sales department, and these computers will automatically show up in the correct group.

  You can customize the following details of the installer:

• Application Name
• Publisher Name
• Installer Icon (used by the installer, and the Add/Remove Programs entry)
• Installer Background image
• End User License Agreement (EULA)
• Post Install application (run an executable you provide after the OptiTune agent is installed)

• Geo Location – View the location of all your organization’s computers on a map, or view the city/state/country information for all computers in a tabular format
• Scripting – Upload scripts to the OptiTune management server, and deploy them to a group of computers, or a single computer.  View the script’s output as well in the management console, or edit the script from your web browser.  You can also upload any extra files or tools the script may need.  Supported scripting technologies include:
• Batch Files (.bat, .cmd)
• Power Shell (.ps1)
• Windows Script Host (.vbs, .js, .wsf)
• Python (.py)
• Perl (.pl)
• Ruby (.rb)
• Bravura Settings Script (.bvs)
• System Tasks – Execute system tasks on a group of computers, or a single computer.  System tasks include:
• Restart
• Shutdown
• Sleep
• Hibernate
• Schedule Disk Check
• Defragment
• Kill Process
• Start/Stop/Restart Service
• Dynamic Polling – client computers now poll the management server more frequently when an administrator is logged in, and less frequently when an administrator has not logged in for 1 or more days.
• Favorite Tasks – define a list of your favorite tasks (install, uninstall, script, system, etc…) and execute them directly from the computer details view page, with 2 clicks.
• Deployment History – view all deployment results for a task deployment, not just the most recent one.  Or, view the entire deployment history for a single computer.
• Computer Connection Status – view the real time connection status of a computer on the computer details page

Using the USB Easy Transfer Cable, it allows users to quickly transfer their data from an old computer to a new Windows 8.1 computer or tablet

REDMOND, Washington. –(BUSINESS WIRE)– Bravura Software today announced the version 2 release of Easy Computer Sync, a software program that allows users to quickly and easily transfer or synchronize data between computers using a USB Easy Transfer Cable.

The new release adds full migration support, which allows users to transfer all of their data to a new computer.  It also supports synchronizing data in both directions between computers, and manually dragging and dropping files between computers.  The version 2 release also includes a new remote control feature for the connected computer, which is especially helpful when only one monitor is available.

The new features include:

• A new “My Desktop” sync item is presented on the selection screen. Several people have asked to be able to synchronize documents and folders stored on their desktops.
• The ability to resolve conflicts by automatically picking the “newest” file (that is, the most recently modified file).
• The ability to synchronize folders in more “protected” areas of the system, including C:Program Files, C:Documents and Settings, or C:Users. If you want to just synchronize one subfolder in My Documents for example, you can now do so. There is a new checkbox in the “Add Folder” screen which lets you view these protected folders.
